Dhammasara Monastrey
The Buddhist Society of Western Australia is establishing the Dhammasara Buddhist Monastery at Gidgegannup. A complicated pavilion arrangement is included in the new build design, which consists of a new 470m2 Meditation Hall with a coffered ceiling and access walkways in the roof space. A commercial kitchen and an operable wall separate the areas in the massive 382m2 Dining Hall.
The 220m2 amenities block comprises laundry and multiple amenities facilities to accommodate the enormous number of individuals that use the facility, which can reach 300 persons at a time. Over 662m2 of built space is devoted to the Library, Accommodation Wing, and Covered Terrace. Over the 40 hectare site at Gidgegannup, a total of 2101m2 of the building has been completed.
BE Projects collaborated with the Buddhist Nuns who lived on the land, taking all cultural celebrations and sensitivities into account.
