BE Projects worked with the City of Canning to refurbish the existing dilapidated building into a refreshed, compliant, and architecturally appealing space for the Canning Community. The first community facility of its type in the south of Perth. The intent is for the Centre and the surrounding parklands to be a hub for community activities and programs that showcase the City’s diverse community and provide opportunities for residents to access a range of programs and activities, including for example business mentoring, digital literacy initiatives & cultural events/workshops.
Ground Floor: Main Hall & Commercial Kitchen
The only function space at Hillview Intercultural and Community Centre includes a stage, accessibility stage lift, projector, and AV system. This room is suitable for theatre performances, live music, and entertainment. Suitable for 200 people. Adjacent to the main hall, the kitchen space is equipped with a commercial fit-out suitable for cooking classes and small business food preparation.
First Floor: Computer Lab, Activity Rooms & Activity Room 1-3
The Computer Lab is equipped with 8 Pcs, a smart screen, and laptop bench with a charging station. The centre features 3 activity rooms with a hard floor finish and flexible furniture to suit your needs. The activity spaces include a wet room suitable for art classes and messy activities. It is also flexible to use as a training or meeting space. The room has digital smart screens and kitchenette, and large collaboration tables for group work. Can be used for a variety of programs or training. Suitable for 35-50 people.
